Peaceful Power Tools

Privacy notice

This notice is complete and in force. A final professional review is still planned as good practice.

What we collect, and why

Account and access information (via GoHighLevel): your name, email address, and membership status. Used to verify who you are and what you're entitled to access. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.

Free sign-up (via GoHighLevel): if you sign up for the free tools, we add your first name and email address to our contact list, labelled as a free-tools user along with where you found us (for example WhatsApp or Instagram), so you can sign in. Lawful basis: performance of a contract. If you tick the box, we also email you tips and offers. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email.

Conversations with the AI tools: the messages you send to any of the boundary tools, and the tool's responses, stored so you can return to past conversations. Lawful basis: performance of a contract for the storage itself. Where a conversation incidentally includes special category data (see below), the applicable basis is your explicit consent, given by continuing to use the tool after being informed of this notice. This includes your conversations with the coach on the home screen.

Voice input (only if you use the microphone): your recording is sent to be turned into text, which then appears in your message box for you to check before sending. We don't store the recording itself. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (you've chosen to speak rather than type).

My words and check-ins (only if you use them): wording you choose to save to My words, and your answer when the home screen asks how something went. Kept so you can come back to them; you can edit or delete saved words at any time. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.

On your phone or computer: the app keeps a few things in your browser so it works smoothly: your light or dark setting, and, so the 1-min Reset, Help now and My words work with no connection, an offline copy of those pages and of your saved words. They stay on your device, and logging out clears your saved words from it. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Usage counts: each time you use an AI feature we note which feature, when, and how much AI processing it took (never what you wrote or said). Used to keep the tools fair for everyone with a generous daily limit, and to understand running costs. On the free Fruit Machine, which needs no login, the limit uses a scrambled one-way code made from your internet address instead of an account; the address itself isn't stored. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (keeping the service fair, secure and affordable).

Feedback submissions: your ratings, written feedback, and — only if you explicitly agree at the point of submitting — a link to the specific conversation the feedback relates to. Lawful basis: explicit consent for the conversation link specifically; legitimate interest (improving the service) for the rest.

Who the tools are for

Peaceful Power Tools is for adults aged 18 and over. It isn't designed for children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has used it, email privacy@boundaries.work and we'll delete their data.

The coach and every tool are AI: replies are written by an AI model (see Anthropic below), following Ian Simpson's Peaceful Power coaching method. It's coaching, not therapy or medical, legal or financial advice, and it can get things wrong. If you're not safe, the Help now page lists free UK support lines.

Special category data — please read this

Article 9 of UK GDPR defines certain categories of personal data as requiring extra protection: health information, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, and others. Our AI tools are built to focus strictly on boundary-setting conversations and never ask for this kind of information directly — but because you're describing real situations in your own words, this kind of detail can come up incidentally (for example, mentioning a family member's health condition).

Before you first use the tools, we ask you in plain words to agree to this. By accepting, and then sharing this kind of detail voluntarily, you give explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)) for us to process it for the purpose of delivering the coaching tool you've chosen to use. You can withdraw this consent at any time by deleting the relevant conversation or your data as a whole (see "Your rights"), or by contacting us.

Who we share data with

We use the following services to deliver the AI tools. Each processes data on our behalf and is never permitted to use your data for its own purposes:

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your conversations to train any AI model.

International data transfers

Your stored conversations and feedback stay in the EU: Supabase hosts them in Ireland, a territory covered by the UK's adequacy regulations, so no additional safeguard is needed.

Anthropic, OpenAI, Vercel, GoHighLevel and Resend process data in the United States. Each of these transfers is safeguarded by the provider's data processing agreement incorporating the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which contractually holds them to UK-level data protection standards.

How long we keep your data

Conversation history and My words are kept until you delete them. Feedback submissions are kept for 24 months for service improvement analysis, after which identifying details are removed and only anonymised rating/type data is retained. Usage counts are kept for 12 months, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@boundaries.work. We will respond within one calendar month.

Automated decision-making

The AI tools generate personalised responses based on what you share, but this does not involve automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. Membership and access decisions are handled by Ian directly through the standard membership system, not by the AI tools.
